The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has unveiled its National Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections, appointing its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, as co-chairman and his running mate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, as co-vice-chairman.
Former Bayelsa State Governor and NDC National Leader, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, was named chairman of the council, while the party’s National Chairman, Senator Cleopas Moses Zuwoghe, will serve as vice-chairman.

Mallam Ibrahim Hussain Abdulkarim was appointed Director-General of the presidential campaign, while the party’s National Secretary, Ikenna Morgan Enekweizu, was named council secretary. Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, is also part of the campaign structure.
The party said the council would coordinate campaign activities nationwide, provide strategic leadership and mobilise support for its vision of a “new, just, and prosperous Nigeria.” It added that its campaign would focus on people-centred policies and national development.
The council is expected to coordinate campaign activities involving the party’s presidential, National Assembly, governorship and state assembly candidates ahead of the 2027 elections.
