Woman Dies in Early Morning Fire at Man’s Residence in Uyo
An unidentified woman has died after being trapped in a fire that gutted a residential building along Ikpa Road in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.
The incident reportedly occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, July 21, 2026, with the fire said to have started at about 5:30 a.m.
According to reports shared online, the woman had reportedly accompanied a male companion to the residence after the two allegedly met at a nightclub earlier in the night.
While the male resident reportedly escaped the burning building unharmed, the woman was trapped inside and sustained fatal burns.
The fire destroyed properties reportedly worth millions of naira. The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
