Two Nigerians Arrested in Ghana Over Alleged Murder of Fellow Nigerian

Two Nigerian nationals, Daniel Victor Eze and David Oko Ewa, have been arrested by the Northern Regional Police Command in Ghana over the alleged murder of a fellow Nigerian, 36 year old Nkemujika Uzorchuku Eze, in Tamale.

According to the Ghana Police Service, the victim’s body was discovered on Saturday, July 11, 2026, inside his bedroom in Sanzirigu, a suburb of Tamale. Investigators found him lying in a pool of blood with a deep cut on his forehead, while a towel had been stuffed into his mouth. The room had also been ransacked.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased shared a three bedroom apartment with his wife, Peace Uzorchuku, the two suspects, and another Nigerian identified as Godwin Nwafor.

Police recovered a wooden pestle believed to have been used in the attack, along with other materials now undergoing forensic examination. The victim’s body was taken to the Tamale Teaching Hospital, where he was confirmed dead before being deposited in the mortuary for an autopsy.

Through intelligence led operations, police tracked and arrested the suspects at Tatale while they were allegedly attempting to flee to the Republic of Togo.

According to the police, the suspects allegedly confessed during interrogation that they conspired to kill the deceased after accusing him of withholding proceeds from suspected internet fraud activities.

A subsequent search led to the recovery of several items believed to have been stolen from the victim’s room, including mobile phones, laptops, a tablet, jewellery, wristwatches, clothing, personal documents and other valuables. All recovered items have been retained as exhibits.

The suspects remain in police custody and were expected to be arraigned before a court on Monday, July 13, 2026, as investigations continue.
