School Resumption: Anambra Police Deploys Personnel for Enhanced Security
The Anambra State Police Command has deployed personnel and other security agencies to schools and strategic locations across the state as schools resume for the new academic session.
The exercise, supervised by the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, ACP Harrison Oruruo, is part of the Inspector General of Police’s Safe School Initiative.
The deployment is aimed at strengthening security around schools, assisting pupils and students with safe road crossing, providing security awareness and ensuring a safe learning environment.
Police personnel have also been directed to maintain a visible presence around schools, particularly during peak arrival and closing periods, while responding promptly to security concerns.
The Command said the exercise would strengthen collaboration among the Police, school authorities, teachers, parents, guardians and host communities to identify and prevent security threats around schools.
The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Nnanna Oji Ama, urged school authorities, parents and students to remain vigilant and report suspicious persons or activities to security agencies.
The Command assured residents that it would continue with intelligence led policing, community engagement and proactive security operations around educational institutions throughout the state.
