Manchester City rejects Premier League ruling, vows to pursue appeal
Manchester City has rejected a ruling by a Premier League commission, describing the decision as disappointing and surprising while maintaining its innocence in the ongoing case involving alleged financial rule breaches.
In a statement, the club said it was disappointed by the commission’s opinion and insisted that substantial evidence supported its position.
Manchester City said it would pursue all available legal and regulatory avenues to challenge the decision, arguing that the commission’s opinion contained material errors of law, principle and fact.
The club also questioned the fairness of the regulatory process, stating that it had expected the Premier League’s board and executive to act as independent and impartial regulators.
Manchester City noted that the proceedings were still ongoing, with significant elements yet to be completed, and said it was restricted in what it could disclose publicly until the process was concluded.
The club reaffirmed its intention to challenge the ruling through the available appeal channels.
