Algerian police have reportedly arrested three men accused of attempting to enter Spain illegally by disguising themselves as sheep inside a livestock truck.

The unusual attempt was reportedly uncovered after authorities became suspicious of the behaviour of some animals in the vehicle, with the supposed sheep allegedly making movements that appeared human.

A subsequent inspection reportedly exposed three Algerian nationals, aged between 25 and 30, hiding among the livestock.

The men have been taken into custody and could face charges relating to illegal immigration. Possible animal cruelty charges are also reportedly being considered.

The bizarre incident has sparked reactions on social media, with many people expressing surprise at the alleged attempt to use an animal disguise to evade border controls.

However, further details about the exact location of the arrest, the identities of the suspects and the status of any formal charges have not been provided in the account.
