Anambra Govt Directs NGOs, Foundations to Register Youth Reformation Activities Before November 30

The Anambra State Government has called on Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), foundations, civil society organisations and individuals involved in youth reformation and rehabilitation programmes to register with the Office of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth Reformation.

The exercise, according to the government, is aimed at establishing a comprehensive and verifiable database of organisations and individuals working in youth rehabilitation, mentorship, skills development, character formation and other related interventions across the state.

In a press release issued on November 3, 2026, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth Reformation, Dr Nelson Omenugha, said the initiative would enable the government to identify existing interventions, understand their areas of specialisation and strengthen coordination, collaboration and strategic partnerships among stakeholders.

Dr Omenugha explained that youth reformation was a collective responsibility requiring the active participation of government, the private sector, development partners, religious institutions, community leaders and civil society organisations.

He noted that the registration exercise would provide a structured platform for identifying credible stakeholders, preventing duplication of efforts, facilitating partnerships and connecting interventions to relevant government programmes.

The Special Adviser listed areas of interest to include youth rehabilitation and reintegration, character development and values reorientation, mentorship and leadership development, skills acquisition and vocational training, entrepreneurship and economic empowerment.

Others are education, literacy and personal development, community-based youth engagement, behavioural transformation and social reformation.

He urged organisations and individuals operating in these areas to participate in the exercise, stressing that it was not intended to restrict their legitimate activities but to build a more coordinated, accountable and effective youth reformation ecosystem in the state.

Interested organisations and individuals are required to visit or contact the Office of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth Reformation at Flat 9, Light House, Awka, for registration.

Applicants are expected to provide relevant organisational or personal details, areas of intervention, operational locations, contact information and evidence of previous or ongoing activities, where applicable.

The submission deadline is Monday, November 30, 2026.

Dr Omenugha reaffirmed the commitment of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s administration to building a new generation of responsible, productive, innovative and value-driven young people.

He called on stakeholders to work together towards achieving the state’s youth reformation agenda, noting that collective efforts would contribute to building the New Anambra.
