The Edo State Government has arrested two suspects over alleged organ harvesting, ritual killings and cult related activities in Esan Central Senatorial District, demolishing properties in Uromi and Ewatto allegedly linked to criminal activities.

The operation was conducted by the state’s special security squad, Operation Flush Out Kidnapping and Cultists, alongside the Edo State Security Corps, police and other security agencies.

One of the suspects was identified as 40 year old Ebhata Eromosele. Authorities said his bungalow and boys’ quarters at Uwalor-Oke, Uromi, were demolished following allegations linking the property to ritual activities and organ harvesting.

Security officials alleged that three young women were attacked in an incident connected to the investigation. One reportedly died, another was hospitalised, while the third was discharged.

According to the security officials, more than a month of surveillance helped operatives trace the suspect to the property, where bloodstained bedding and other items were reportedly recovered.

A separate property at Idi-Negbon Eguare, Ewatto, was also demolished over alleged links to cult related activities.

The two suspects are in police custody as investigations continue, with authorities indicating that they could face prosecution based on the outcome of the investigation.

The Edo State Government said it would sustain its crackdown on kidnapping, cultism and other criminal activities across the state.

The allegations have not been established in court, and the suspects are entitled to the presumption of innocence under the law.
