Soludo Throws APGA’s Weight Behind Tinubu, Says Nigeria Has Never Seen Such Political Consensus

Anambra Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo has openly aligned APGA with President Bola Tinubu’s re-election campaign, declaring that Nigeria is witnessing an unprecedented political consensus in support of the economic reforms of the Tinubu administration.
Speaking in Abuja at the inauguration of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Soludo called on progressive political forces to unite behind a common vision for national development, citing unity, security and economic prosperity as key reasons for the alliance.
He described the backing of 33 state governors for a sitting president as unprecedented in Nigeria’s democratic history, while positioning APGA as an early champion of progressive politics, having been registered in 2002, ten years before the APC was formed.
On the economy, Soludo defended the direction of Tinubu’s reforms, acknowledging the difficulties confronting Nigerians but arguing that there was now a stronger political consensus around the need for structural change. He urged the country to stay the course, presenting a second Tinubu term as a possible transition from economic stabilisation to shared prosperity.
The governor called for the consolidation of progressive political forces and assured Tinubu of APGA’s continued partnership in both the re-election campaign and national governance.
His declaration comes after his appointment as coordinator of the APC Presidential Campaign Council in Anambra State, placing him at the centre of the campaign’s activities in a state governed by APGA.
