First Niger Bridge Repairs: FRSC, Security Agencies Inspect Site, Strengthen Traffic Plans

The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Anambra State Command, has joined other security agencies to inspect the ongoing rehabilitation and maintenance works at the First Niger Bridge in Onitsha.

The Sector Commander, Corps Commander Bridget Asekhauno, alongside other service chiefs in the state, visited the bridge to assess the progress of the repair works and the prevailing security situation around the facility.

During the inspection, Asekhauno reaffirmed the readiness of the FRSC to ensure effective traffic management and the safety of motorists and other road users throughout the rehabilitation period.

She stressed the need for close collaboration among the FRSC, Police and other sister security agencies to minimise traffic disruptions and maintain smooth movement around the bridge.

The Command assured motorists and other members of the public that appropriate traffic control measures would be deployed as necessary throughout the rehabilitation period.

Motorists were advised to exercise patience, obey traffic regulations, follow the instructions of traffic control personnel and plan their journeys accordingly.

The FRSC said it would continue to work with relevant stakeholders to ensure safe, orderly and efficient traffic management and safeguard lives and property during the rehabilitation works.
