Troops Neutralise Boko Haram Terrorist, Recover Arms In Yobe

Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, have recorded another operational success following an intelligence-led operation against Boko Haram terrorists in the Lamusuri general area of Gujba Local Government Area, Yobe State.
According to the Acting Military Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East), Captain Mohammed Goni, the operation was carried out at about 11:00 am on September 1, 2026, by troops of 120 Task Force Battalion under Sector 2, working alongside members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF).
Acting on credible intelligence, the troops moved along a suspected terrorist route within the area, where they sighted a group of Boko Haram terrorists and engaged them in a firefight. One terrorist was neutralised, while others fled with suspected gunshot wounds.
A search of the area afterward led to the recovery of one AK-47 rifle, three magazines, 90 rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition, and one body pouch.
The military said the operation reflects the effectiveness of sustained intelligence-led efforts and the ongoing collaboration between troops and local security stakeholders in disrupting terrorist activities across the North East.
Troops of Operation HADIN KAI say they remain committed to maintaining pressure on terrorist elements, denying them freedom of movement, and restoring lasting peace to the region.
