Operation Fansan Yamma: Troops Kill Two Terrorists, Recover AK-47s, Motorcycles In Sokoto
Troops of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have neutralised two suspected terrorists during a fierce encounter in Rabah Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
The operation followed credible intelligence received on August 28, 2026, about the movement of terrorists allegedly conveying hundreds of rustled cattle through the Maikujera area of Rabah LGA.

According to the Joint Task Force, troops of Sector 2 moved to intercept the terrorists but came under an ambush while advancing towards the location. The troops responded with superior firepower, neutralising two terrorists and forcing others to flee into nearby bushes.
A subsequent search of the area led to the recovery of two AK 47 rifles and three motorcycles abandoned by the fleeing terrorists. The rustled cattle reportedly dispersed during the firefight, with troops and local vigilantes continuing efforts to locate and recover them.

The military said the area remains calm as troops maintain dominance and intensify operations against terrorists and criminal elements. It reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and property and sustaining the fight against insecurity across the North West.
