No Religious Disturbance in Anambra – Muslim Leader

The Chairman of the Anambra State Northern Traditional Council and Sarkin Hausawan Awka, Alhaji Garba Haruna, says Muslims and Christians in the state are living together peacefully without religious disturbances.

Haruna stated this while speaking on the relationship between the Muslim community and the Anambra State Government, describing it as cordial and mutually respectful.

He said Muslims in the state are treated equally with other residents and commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for what he described as an inclusive approach to governance and for identifying with the Muslim community during its recent celebration.

The traditional leader also attributed the relative peace and security in Anambra partly to the support provided to security agencies by the state government.

Haruna urged Muslims and other residents to sustain peaceful coexistence, unity and mutual respect, stressing that all communities have a role to play in preserving peace and security across the state.
