Police Arrest Two Robbery Suspects, Recover Three Pistols, 18 Cartridges in Ogun
Ogun State Police Command has arrested two suspected members of an armed robbery syndicate and recovered three locally made pistols and 18 live cartridges.
The suspects, Adeyinka Onakomaya, 46, and Olayiwola Kehinde, 48, were arrested following a sustained investigation into the recovery of a stolen Toyota Matrix allegedly linked to an armed robbery operation in April 2026.
Police spokesperson, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, said operatives traced the suspects to hideouts around Babaode along Idiroko Road, Ota, and parts of Lagos.
Preliminary investigations, according to the Command, indicated that the suspects and other gang members were involved in several armed robbery operations and vehicle snatching incidents across Ota, Iju, Babaode and Atan.
Police said the suspects allegedly confessed to participating in several robbery operations and are assisting investigators in tracking other members of the syndicate still at large.
Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, commended the Anti Robbery Team and vowed that the Command would continue to pursue criminal investigations to a logical conclusion.
The suspects are expected to face prosecution after investigations are concluded.
