Sokoto Police Eliminate Two Suspected Bandits, Recover AK 47 Rifles
The Sokoto State Police Command says its operatives have killed two suspected bandits during a gun duel while foiling an attack on Dankadu Village in Illela Local Government Area.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ahmad Rufa’i, the suspects were advancing from Tsauana Forest when operatives of the Anti Kidnapping Unit, Volunteer Constabulary, Rescue Unit and other tactical teams engaged them.
The bandits reportedly escaped into the forest with gunshot wounds, while a follow up operation recovered two AK 47 rifles, two magazines and 54 rounds of live ammunition.
In a separate operation, police also arrested suspected members of motorcycle theft syndicates operating in Sokoto metropolis. Several stolen motorcycles and a fabricated pistol were recovered from operations in Kwannawa, Tamaje, Mabera and Mana.

The Commissioner of Police, Hassan Hayatu Shaffa, commended the operatives and urged residents to remain vigilant and provide credible information to security agencies.
