64-Year Old Grandfather Arrested Over Alleged Sexual Abuse of 14-Year Old Girl in Gombe

A 64 year old man, Abubakar Aliyu, has been arrested after allegedly sexually abusing a 14 year old girl at his medicine shop in Arawa Quarters, Gombe State.

Aliyu, who is a grandfather, was arrested following a complaint by the girl’s mother and reportedly confessed to the allegation during questioning by security operatives on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.

According to the suspect, the girl came to his shop around 11pm to buy medicine, after which he allegedly lured her into staying and sexually abused her on three occasions.

He also admitted giving the girl between N200 and N400 after the incidents, while claiming that his actions were the result of temptation and expressing regret over what happened.

The suspect was paraded by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Public Relations Officer, CSC Saad Buhari, as authorities continue their investigation into the alleged abuse.
