Nigerian Man Narrates How He Spent Over ₦50,000 On Date Before Discovering Woman Was Married
A Nigerian man has shared his experience of meeting a woman online and later discovering, after an expensive date, that she was married.
According to the man, the woman had been chatting with him for some time before he invited her to his house. He said she declined the invitation and instead suggested that they meet at a restaurant.
He agreed to the arrangement and claimed that by the time he arrived at the restaurant, the woman had already started ordering food and drinks.
The man said he proceeded with the date despite the unexpected spending and eventually spent more than ₦50,000 as the woman continued ordering items.
He further claimed that after the date, he booked a Bolt ride for the woman to his house, expecting that they would spend more time together.
However, according to his account, the woman allegedly told him during the journey that she was married and could not have an intimate relationship with him.
The revelation reportedly came as a surprise to the man, who claimed that the woman had never disclosed her marital status during their lengthy conversations.
He also alleged that he had sent her money on several occasions while they were communicating online.
The incident has sparked discussions online about the importance of transparency in online relationships and the need for people to establish clear boundaries and verify important information before committing financially or emotionally to people they meet online.
