NEC Monitoring Team Commends Anambra’s Innovation Drive During SID Visit
The National Economic Council Implementation Monitoring Committee has commended the Anambra State Government for its commitment to innovation, digital transformation and technology driven economic development.
The commendation followed an assessment visit by the committee to the permanent site of the Solution Innovation District, SID, in Anambra State on July 28.
During the visit, the delegation received a detailed briefing on the progress of the innovation district and its mandate to position Anambra as a leading centre for technology, entrepreneurship, innovation and digital talent development.
The team was also briefed on flagship programmes and key outcomes being implemented by the Office of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Innovation and Business Incubation in collaboration with the Solution Innovation District.
The monitoring exercise was part of the committee’s nationwide assessment of the implementation of resolutions of the National Economic Council and the impact of strategic development programmes across the states.
The visit provided an opportunity for the committee to assess the progress of Anambra’s innovation initiatives and their contribution to digital transformation, economic growth and sustainable development.
The engagement also highlighted the state government’s emphasis on transparency, accountability and measurable results in the implementation of development programmes.
The committee’s assessment is expected to contribute to the broader national review of innovation and development initiatives being implemented in line with the objectives of the National Economic Council.
