Operation Hadin Kai Arrests Six Suspected Terrorist Logistics Suppliers, Recovers Strategic Materials in Borno

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have arrested six suspected terrorist logistics suppliers and recovered a large consignment of materials believed to be intended for terrorist groups during an intelligence driven operation in Borno State.

The operation was carried out by troops of Sector 1 Operation Hadin Kai at about 4:00 p.m. on July 19, 2026, following credible intelligence on the movement of suspected terrorist logistics along a route in the North East theatre of operations.

According to the Acting Military Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East) Operation Hadin Kai, Captain Mohammed Goni, the suspects were intercepted while travelling in five vehicles conveying materials allegedly destined for terrorist elements.

Items recovered during the operation include 202 cartons of herbicides, one jerrycan containing suspected acid, one Starlink wireless internet communication system, six bags of NPK fertilizer, 10 bags of rice, 50 hoes and 20 packs of knapsack sprayer pumps.

The military said preliminary findings indicate that the recovered materials have potential dual use applications capable of supporting terrorist logistics, mobility, communications and sustenance. It added that the suspected acid and NPK fertilizer would undergo forensic examination to determine whether they were intended for the production of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).

The six suspects and all recovered exhibits have been handed over to the appropriate Military Intelligence Regiment for further investigation to identify the intended recipients of the materials, uncover the wider logistics network and facilitate the arrest of other collaborators and sponsors.

Operation Hadin Kai disclosed that preliminary debriefings of rescued hostages and surrendered families of former insurgents indicate that sustained military operations targeting terrorist logistics have significantly weakened the operational capacity of insurgent groups. According to the military, persistent shortages of food, medical supplies, communication equipment and other essential materials have forced many terrorists to abandon their camps, flee from military pressure and surrender in increasing numbers.

The military reaffirmed its commitment to dismantling terrorist logistics and support networks through sustained intelligence driven operations, stressing that it would continue to target financiers, logistics suppliers, informants and collaborators in order to deny terrorist groups the resources needed to sustain their activities.

Operation Hadin Kai also appealed to members of the public to continue providing timely and credible information on suspicious persons, movements and activities, describing public cooperation as essential to ongoing counter terrorism operations and the restoration of lasting peace and security in the North East.
