Soludo’s Education Vision Takes Centre Stage as Anambra Secondary School Principals Hold 2026 Congress

Anambra State’s drive to build a world class education system received another boost as secondary school principals from across the state converged on Dennis Memorial Grammar School, Onitsha, for the 2026 Congress of the All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), with a renewed commitment to innovation, leadership, and academic excellence.
Declaring the importance of innovative leadership in transforming education, the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs. Chiamaka Nnake, challenged principals to champion Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s educational reforms by embracing new ideas and creating learning environments that will prepare students to compete successfully in a rapidly changing world.
Delivering a lecture titled “Innovative Leadership for Excellence in Education,” Mrs. Nnake described ANCOPSS as one of the strongest platforms for shaping the future of education in Nigeria. She urged principals to promote collaboration, share successful teaching strategies, and return to their schools with fresh ideas that will produce disciplined, innovative, and globally competitive students.
The Commissioner for Education, Dr. Ngozi Chuma Udeh, commended principals for their unwavering commitment to developing the minds and character of young people. She described them as key drivers of the state’s education revolution and encouraged them to remain committed to Governor Soludo’s vision of making Anambra the leading education destination in Nigeria.
Earlier, the State Chairman of ANCOPSS, Mrs. Hope Ezeani, said the annual congress was designed to strengthen leadership capacity among school administrators and equip them with practical skills to meet the demands of modern education. Host and Chairman of ANCOPSS, Onitsha Zone, Dr. Mrs. Nneka Agbasianya, also stressed the need for principals to embrace innovation and continuous learning to ensure students are prepared for future opportunities.
In separate goodwill messages, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Dr. Mrs. Ifeoma Agbaizu; Executive Chairman of ASUBEB, Dr. Mrs. Justina Anyadiegwu; and the Executive Secretary of the Post Primary Schools Service Commission, Mrs. Benedine Anagor, urged principals to lead with integrity, embrace change, and continue supporting the transformational education policies of the Soludo administration.
Participants, including Dr. Mrs. Amaka Ubaka, Revd. Chimezie Ogidi, Revd. Canon Onyebuchi Emefor, Dr. Mrs. Nneka Okafor, and Mrs. Louisa Okpalaeke, expressed satisfaction with the congress, describing it as inspiring and impactful. They pledged to implement the knowledge gained to improve teaching, learning, and school administration across the state.
The congress featured paper presentations by renowned resource persons, interactive sessions, drama performances, and other activities aimed at promoting excellence in secondary school leadership and improving educational standards in Anambra State.
