Portable, Charles Okocha Set for Celebrity Boxing Rematch on July 31

Street pop singer Portable is set to face actor and internet personality Charles Okocha in a celebrity boxing rematch scheduled for July 31 at the Balmoral Convention Centre.

The bout, tagged “Unfinished Business,” comes weeks after Portable lost his celebrity boxing title to Carter Efe. The event will also feature a boxing contest between Agbaje and Musa.

Portable suffered his first defeat in celebrity boxing when Carter Efe outpointed him over three rounds at the Chaos in the Ring 4 event in Lagos. All three judges scored the contest 30 to 27 in favour of Carter Efe, ending the singer’s unbeaten run.

Before the loss, Portable had recorded victories over Charles Okocha and Speed Darlington, winning two celebrity boxing belts.

The rematch revives a rivalry that began in 2023 after Portable accused Charles Okocha of cheating him in a business deal worth about ₦40 million. The dispute led to a sanctioned boxing contest at Landmark Beach, Victoria Island, where Portable was declared the winner after four rounds.

Following that bout, Charles Okocha disputed the result and repeatedly demanded a rematch, insisting the contest was not fairly decided.

The July 31 showdown will give Okocha another opportunity to avenge his earlier defeat, while Portable will be aiming to regain momentum after losing his celebrity boxing crown.
