2027 Elections Offer Anambra Opportunity to Reciprocate Tinubu Administration’s Support – Mefor
The Anambra State Commissioner for Information and Value Reformation, Dr Law Mefor, has said the 2027 general elections present an opportunity for Ndi Anambra to reciprocate the goodwill and support the state has continued to receive from the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Dr Mefor made the remark while receiving APGA women leaders from various communities in Idemili North Local Government Area, who paid him a courtesy visit at the Jerome Udoji State Secretariat in Awka.
According to the Commissioner, Governor Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s cordial working relationship with the Federal Government has continued to attract developmental projects and other dividends of democracy to Anambra State. He, however, acknowledged that persuading Ndi Anambra to vote against former Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi, in the 2027 presidential election would not be an easy task.
He urged the women leaders and other party faithful to intensify grassroots mobilisation to ensure the victory of APGA candidates in the state and National Assembly elections, while also supporting President Tinubu’s bid for a second term in office. Dr Mefor maintained that APGA, under Governor Soludo’s leadership, has sustained constructive engagement and strategic alignment with the Federal Government in the interest of Anambra State.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, the Idemili North APGA Women Leader, Mrs Uju Omile, said the visit was to congratulate Dr Mefor on his reappointment as Commissioner and to express appreciation to Governor Soludo for finding him worthy to continue serving in his administration.
Also speaking, a community APGA women leader, Mrs Mary Ann Anyaegbunam, reaffirmed the commitment of the women to mobilising support for APGA and President Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The visit featured a special birthday rendition by the women leaders in honour of Governor Soludo as he celebrated his 66th birthday.
