16-Year Old Boy Allegedly Disfigured by Aunt in Aba
A 16 year old boy identified as Chukwuka from Enugu State has reportedly sustained serious facial injuries after his maternal aunt allegedly attacked him with a broken plate in Aba, Abia State.
Chukwuka had reportedly lived with his aunt for about one year and eight months, assisting with household chores and helping at her mama put restaurant, including caring for her child, cooking and serving customers.
According to the teenager’s account to the police, the incident occurred after he allegedly forgot to wash one of the plates.
The matter has been reported at the Osisioma Police Division in Aba, where the boy’s statement was documented. The aunt was reportedly present when Chukwuka was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The teenager is currently receiving medical attention for the injuries sustained in the alleged attack.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are expected to be investigated by the appropriate authorities, while calls have been made for the teenager to receive adequate medical care and protection.
No child should be subjected to violence or serious injury over a domestic mistake, and the case has renewed concerns about the need to protect children living under the care of relatives or guardians.
