Troops Intercept Suspected Arms Traffickers, Recover Seven Firearms in Kaduna

Troops of Sector 7, Operation ENDURING PEACE, have foiled a suspected arms trafficking operation in Kaduna State, recovering three locally fabricated AK 47 rifles and four submachine guns concealed in a vehicle.

The intelligence led operation was carried out at the Samaru Checkpoint in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area, where troops intercepted an ash coloured Mercedes Benz reportedly transporting the weapons from Jos, Plateau State, to Niger State.

According to the Nigerian Army, one suspect was shot while attempting to escape and is currently receiving medical treatment. Investigations are ongoing to track down and arrest other suspected members of the arms trafficking network.

The Army said the operation underscores its continued efforts to combat illegal arms trafficking and enhance security across the country.
