The organising team of Okpa Fiesta has called for collaboration with Infinity Tech-World, Awka, as part of efforts to promote cultural heritage, support young businesses and create opportunities for networking among young people.

The team made the appeal during a courtesy visit to the Managing Director of Infinity Tech-World, Mr Aminu Lateef-Temitope.

The delegation was led by Ms Lucia Enahoro, who expressed admiration for the organisation’s growth and its contribution to youth development in Anambra State.

Enahoro said she was particularly impressed by the vision of the organization in empowering young people through skills acquisition, training and employment opportunities.

She explained that the visit was aimed at introducing the fifth edition of Okpa Fiesta, and exploring possible areas of partnership with the technology firm.

According to her, the festival, which has held four previous editions, was conceived to celebrate Okpa as an important part of the region’s food culture and challenge the perception that it is merely a meal associated with people of limited means.

She noted that Okpa has remained an affordable and accessible food for many households, stressing the need to give it greater cultural recognition and celebrate its significance.

Enahoro described Okpa Fiesta as a platform built around the theme, “Eat, Play and Connect,” explaining that it brings together young people, entrepreneurs, businesses and creative minds in an atmosphere of entertainment, networking and business promotion.

She added that participants have opportunities to interact, exchange business information, promote their products and services, and establish useful relationships.

The Okpa Fiesta team consequently invited Infinity Tech-World to participate in the fifth edition and consider supporting the event through collaboration.

Receiving the delegation, Mr Lateef-Temitope expressed satisfaction with the concept behind Okpa Fiesta, particularly its focus on cultural promotion, youth networking and creating opportunities for young people.

He assured the team that Infinity Tech-World would continue to identify with positive youth-focused initiatives and events that promote the interests, development and advancement of young people.

The visit highlighted the complementary roles of cultural initiatives and technology-driven organisations in promoting local identity, developing young people’s capacities and creating opportunities for entrepreneurship and employment.
