Nigerian comedian and actor, Samuel Perry, popularly known as Broda Shaggi, has made an emotional return to the screen after months away from entertainment following a stray-bullet injury that threatened his career.
The comedian opened up about his frightening experience, recovery and uncertainty about his future in an emotional video titled “Second Chance”, shared on his YouTube channel.
In the video, Shaggi recounted how he was shot on March 9, 2026, while leaving a brand activation assignment in Sango-Ota, Ogun State, an incident that abruptly interrupted his busy entertainment career.
The 33-year-old entertainer said the injury left him fearing for his life and questioning whether he would ever regain the ability to walk, dance and perform again.
According to him, the bullet struck his hip, leaving him unconscious before he was taken to a hospital for emergency treatment.
Shaggi revealed that he underwent surgery in Nigeria but later travelled to Dubai for further medical intervention after experiencing difficulties with movement in his injured leg.
He described the recovery period as emotionally challenging, particularly because he could no longer engage in the activities that had defined his career, including acting, dancing, singing and producing comedy skits.
The comedian also admitted that watching his colleagues continue their work while he remained incapacitated sometimes brought him to tears, as he worried that audiences might forget him during his prolonged absence.
Despite the challenges, Shaggi said he continued writing content and developing projects while recovering, determined to reconnect with his fans and return to the entertainment industry.
Reflecting on his survival, the comedian expressed gratitude to God for giving him another opportunity to live and pursue his passion.
He described the experience as a second chance at life, urging his fans to celebrate his survival rather than feel sorry for him.
Shaggi also assured his audience that he was preparing new projects and intended to return with renewed energy after months of uncertainty.
The entertainer’s account offers a glimpse into the personal struggles behind his public persona, highlighting the physical, emotional and professional challenges that can accompany a life-threatening injury.
His return marks a significant moment for fans who had expressed concern during his absence, as the comedian begins a new chapter in his recovery and career.
The video also serves as a reminder of the unpredictability of life and the importance of appreciating the opportunity to live, recover and begin again.
