Aguleri/Umuoba Anam Clash: US Based Security Expert Odili Hails Soludo’s Commission of Inquiry

A United States based cybersecurity expert, Dr Primus Odili, has commended Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, for setting up a seven member Commission of Inquiry aimed at finding a lasting solution to the communal clashes between Aguleri and Umuoba Anam communities in Anambra East Local Government Area.

Dr Odili described the governor’s initiative as a welcome step towards resolving the dispute, expressing optimism that the commission, chaired by retired Justice Nkemdilim Izuakor, would make recommendations capable of bringing lasting peace to the affected communities.

He described the recurring clashes in the area as needless and unwarranted, stressing the importance of addressing communal disputes through peaceful and lawful means rather than allowing them to escalate into violence, loss of lives and destruction of property.

The cybersecurity expert, an employer of labour and chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Anambra State, also appealed to communities across the state to embrace dialogue and peaceful conflict resolution.

He urged youths to shun violence and avoid being drawn into crises that offer no meaningful benefits to them or their families. Instead, he encouraged them to pursue productive ventures that would improve their economic prospects and enable them to become worthy ambassadors of their families, communities and Anambra State.

Dr Odili expressed hope that the commission’s work would contribute to restoring peace and strengthening peaceful coexistence between the neighbouring communities.
