Anambra Police Rescue Three Kidnap Victims, Arrest 57 Suspects in One Mont

The Anambra State Police Command says it has rescued three kidnapped victims, arrested 57 suspects and recovered 18 firearms and 43 rounds of ammunition in operations conducted across the state in the past one month.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Nnanna Oji Ama, disclosed during an operational briefing attended by the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 13, Ukpo, AIG Miller Gajere Dantawye, who was on an operational visit to the Command.

According to CP Nnanna, the Command also destroyed a criminal camp as part of sustained intelligence led operations targeting kidnapping, armed robbery, cult related violence, murder and other serious offences. He attributed the results to intelligence gathering, targeted tactical operations, strategic deployment and collaboration with sister security agencies and other stakeholders.

Responding to the scorecard, AIG Dantawye commended the Command for the results and urged personnel to sustain the momentum through discipline, professionalism, effective supervision and strict adherence to the rule of law. He directed officers to strengthen intelligence networks, deepen community engagement and intensify operations against kidnapping, armed robbery, cultism, drug related offences and other violent crimes.

The AIG also stressed the importance of public confidence and cooperation, noting that credible information from communities remains critical to effective policing. The Command appealed to Ndi Anambra, traditional institutions, community leaders, the Police Community Relations Committee and other stakeholders to continue sharing information with security agencies, assuring residents that it would deploy all lawful resources to protect lives and property.
