Police Arrest 12 In Connection With Murder of Popular Awka MC, Aiza Nwosu

The Anambra State Police Command has arrested at least 12 suspects in connection with the killing of popular Awka Master of Ceremonies, comedian and town crier, Isaac “Aiza” Nwosu, as investigations into the incident and other suspected cult related killings in Awka intensify.
Police spokesman, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said the arrests formed part of ongoing investigations aimed at identifying those responsible for the killing and other related violent incidents in the state capital.
According to Ikenga, a principal suspect remains at large, with the Command continuing efforts to apprehend him and unravel the circumstances surrounding the killing.
The police spokesman said Miss Nwosu Chikamso Jennifer, who is reportedly related to one of the suspects, was arrested after investigators allegedly discovered communication between her and the wanted suspect on the night Aiza Nwosu was killed.
He said Jennifer was subsequently released after offering to assist the police in locating the wanted suspect, although the Command said she did not eventually provide the assistance expected.
The Command also strongly denied allegations that its officers demanded or collected N600,000 to secure Jennifer’s release.
Ikenga challenged anyone alleging extortion or corruption in connection with the matter to provide credible evidence, stressing that the police remained focused on bringing those responsible for the killings to justice.
The Command said investigations are ongoing and reaffirmed its determination to apprehend the outstanding suspect and bring the perpetrators of the cult related killings in Awka to justice.
