Enugu Govt Begins Arrest of Unlicensed Native Doctors, Ndi Ezenwanyi
By Chibuzo Obidike
The Enugu State Government has commenced enforcement against unlicensed native doctors, Ezenwanyis and traditional medicine practitioners operating across parts of the state.
The enforcement exercise is being carried out by a government task force across Igbo Eze North, Nsukka, Igbo Eze South, Uzo Uwani, Igbo Etiti and Udenu Local Government Areas.

The government has directed all traditional medicine practitioners operating in the affected areas to register and obtain the necessary licence to continue their activities legally.

Practitioners found operating without the required licence risk arrest, prosecution and other penalties under the relevant regulations.
The government advised unlicensed practitioners to complete their registration before enforcement officers reach their shrines, temples or places of practice.

It warned that failure to comply could result in court action, heavy fines and other legal consequences.
The government urged all affected practitioners to treat the directive seriously and ensure that their operations are properly registered and licensed.
