Anambra Police Recover Two Fabricated Pistols, Cult Inscription From Abandoned Motorcycle
The Anambra State Police Command has recovered two fabricated pistols and three caps bearing an inscription associated with a secret cult from an abandoned motorcycle in Awka North Local Government Area.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ikenga Tochukwu, said operatives of the Violent Crime Response Unit made the recovery on Thursday, August 13, 2026, during a patrol along the Isuaniocha Bridge.
According to him, the officers sighted two young men riding an unregistered black Sanyang motorcycle who suddenly turned and attempted to escape on seeing the police. The suspects later fell from the motorcycle and fled into a nearby bush, abandoning the motorcycle, slippers and a bag.
A search of the abandoned bag led to the recovery of the two fabricated pistols and three caps bearing an inscription associated with the Vikings Confraternity. Police said efforts were ongoing to identify and arrest the fleeing suspects and determine their connection with the recovered items.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Nnanna Oji Ama, directed operatives to intensify efforts to apprehend the suspects, stressing that the Command would sustain patrols, intelligence led operations and proactive policing to disrupt criminal activities and protect residents across the state.
