14 Inducted into Anambra Community Role Models Hall of Fame in Aguata

Fourteen distinguished sons and daughters from communities in Aguata Local Government Area have been inducted into the league of Anambra Community Role Models by the Youth Wing of the Anambra State Town Unions Council (ASTUC) in collaboration with the Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN).
The recognition ceremony, held in Ekwulobia, celebrated individuals who have distinguished themselves through community service, leadership, and contributions to grassroots development.
Among the award recipients were Sir Arinze Ezenwa (Ekwulobia), Chief Sunday Agwa (Ezinifite), Mr. Celestine Nwankwor (Isuofia), Chief Paul Umenduka (Achina), Chief Vin de Paul Ogamba (Akpo), Dr. Okwuchukwu Ezeani (Igboukwu), and Chief Arinze Okamma (Mkpologwu), alongside other honourees from Aguata communities.
Chairman of Aguata Local Government Area, Dr. Chibueze Oforbuike, who served as the chief host and was also honoured at the event alongside Chief Emeka Dimude, commended the organisers for promoting positive values among young people.
He congratulated the award recipients, describing them as worthy ambassadors of their communities whose contributions to development and humanity deserve recognition. He also reminded them that greater responsibility comes with such honour.
Responding on behalf of the awardees, Sir Arinze Ezenwa, Sir Paul Umenduka, and Chief Adilieje expressed appreciation for the recognition and pledged to continue serving their communities with dedication, integrity, and selflessness. They also encouraged young people to remain responsible and actively participate in nation-building, especially as the 2027 general elections approach.
President General of the ASTUC Youth Wing, Comrade Ken Okoli, said the initiative is aimed at identifying and celebrating individuals whose lives inspire the younger generation.
He disclosed plans to convene an interface between the newly inducted community role models and Governor Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo to strengthen mentorship and youth development across the state.
According to him, the role models are expected to serve as ambassadors of the core values of Onye Anambra, including the fear of God, patriotism, hard work, integrity, and self reliance.
