‘Nnamdi Kanu Is Not a Saviour’ — Orsu Ihiteukwa Man
A man from Orsu Ihiteukwa in Imo State, Mr. Chigozie Kingsley, has criticised the description of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, as a saviour of the Igbo people.
Speaking in a documentary produced by the Igbo Integration Movement, I MOVE, Chigozie argued that Nnamdi Kanu does not possess the character traits he believes should be associated with someone regarded as a saviour.
According to him, Kanu is allegedly unwilling to accept advice and has displayed traits which he described as pride, arrogance, rudeness and a quick temper.
He further accused the IPOB leader of contributing to the deterioration of peace and security in the Southeast, claiming that the region, which he described as previously peaceful, has witnessed increased killings and destruction.
“Nnamdi Kanu is not a saviour. How can someone who does not receive advice be a saviour? He does not possess the qualities of a saviour. He is proud, arrogant and angry. He came to Alaigbo, which was peaceful, and made it a dungeon,” he said.
The comments are expected to generate further debate across the Southeast, where opinions remain sharply divided over Nnamdi Kanu, IPOB and the wider agitation for self determination.
While supporters view Kanu as a prominent voice in the struggle for the rights and self determination of the Igbo people, his critics continue to question his leadership style and the consequences of the activities associated with the agitations.
