Awba Ofemili Community Applauds Mayor Anago Over Refurbished Secondary School

Residents of Awba Ofemili Community in Awka North Local Government Area of Anambra State have commended the Mayor, Hon. Chibuike Anago, for refurbishing the community’s dilapidated secondary school.
The commendation was made during an inspection of the renovated Community Secondary School, Awba Ofemili, where community leaders, parents, teachers and students expressed appreciation for the intervention.
The renovation included the replacement of damaged roofing sheets, repainting of classroom blocks, rehabilitation of learning spaces and other essential repairs aimed at creating a safer and more conducive learning environment for students.
The President General of Awba Ofemili Development Union, Mr. Chinedu Mebene, described the intervention as a demonstration of the Mayor’s commitment to education, youth development and the welfare of future generations.
He urged students to use the renovated facilities responsibly and appealed to residents to protect the school from vandalism, stressing that safeguarding public infrastructure is a collective responsibility.
The Chairman of the Parent Teacher Association, Mr. George Agunwa, also thanked Hon. Anago for his support, while a retired Headteacher and community leader, Mr. Bernard Nwanelo, described the project as a welcome development that had restored hope to the community.
Speaking on behalf of residents, Mr. Chigozie Norbert Nweke applauded the Mayor’s intervention and appealed for further support towards the rehabilitation of the community’s dilapidated hospital to improve healthcare delivery.
Responding, Hon. Chibuike Anago reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving educational infrastructure across Awka North, stressing that investment in education remains essential to sustainable development and a brighter future.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by the Principal of Community Secondary School, Awba Ofemili, Lady Chika Muodozie, who appreciated the Mayor’s support and pledged the proper maintenance of the renovated facilities.
