Portable Says Nigerian Artistes Must Feature Him to Win Grammy

Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has claimed that no Nigerian artiste can win or even secure a Grammy Award nomination without collaborating with him.

The outspoken artiste made the remark during an interview on Rubbin’ Minds on Channels Television on Sunday, where he described himself as the “new born Fela” and insisted that his influence in the Nigerian music industry is unparalleled.

According to Portable, any artiste aspiring to win a Grammy should feature him on a song, arguing that his presence would significantly boost their chances of receiving international recognition. “If any artiste wants to collect Grammy in this Nigeria, if you don’t feature me, you won’t collect Grammy. If you want to collect a Grammy nomination, come and feature me. I am the new face. I am the new born Fela,” he said.

The singer also spoke about his success in celebrity boxing, claiming that he has earned over ₦100 million from the sport. He further stated that his participation has helped popularise celebrity boxing in Nigeria and attracted greater public interest.

Portable is widely known for his controversial remarks and bold claims, many of which often generate widespread reactions across social media and the entertainment industry.
