Anambra Assembly Committee Inspects Oko to Ufuma Road Project, Demands Strict Compliance with Approved Roundabout Design

The Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Works and Infrastructure has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring quality road construction across the state, with particular emphasis on strict adherence to approved engineering standards during an oversight visit to the ongoing Oko to Ufuma Dual Carriageway Project in Orumba North Local Government Area.

Led by the Chairman of the Committee, Engr. Emmanuel Nwafor, who represents Orumba South Constituency, the lawmakers paid special attention to the construction of the Oko Roundabout, describing it as a critical component of the road project.

The Committee stressed that the roundabout’s circumference and all other specifications must conform strictly to the approved engineering design to guarantee road safety, durability and smooth traffic flow.

Engr. Nwafor expressed satisfaction with the quality and pace of work, noting that the project reflects the Soludo administration’s commitment to delivering durable and modern road infrastructure that will improve connectivity and stimulate economic activities in the area.

Responding, the contractor assured the Committee that the Oko Roundabout and every other aspect of the project are being executed in strict compliance with the approved engineering design and construction standards.

The contractor added that work is progressing according to schedule and expressed optimism that the project will be completed within the next six months, barring any unforeseen circumstances.

The oversight visit underscores the Anambra State House of Assembly’s resolve to ensure that public infrastructure projects meet the highest standards and deliver lasting value to the people of the state.
