Peggy Ovire Confirms Divorce From Frederick Leonard Is Finalised
Nollywood actress has confirmed that her marriage to fellow actor has officially come to an end, weeks after publicly accusing him of infidelity.
The actress announced the development through posts shared on her Instagram Story, where she reposted a message from a friend that read, “Thank You Jesus. My queen is free,” before adding another post that simply said, “Thank You Jesus. It is done.”
She also updated her Snapchat profile with a video captioned “Miss Peggy Ovire,” signalling her return to using her maiden name.
The confirmation comes after Ovire accused Leonard of having an affair with a married woman and alleged that, despite filing for divorce, he repeatedly failed to appear in court, opting instead to send his lawyer to represent him.
She had previously urged him to attend the June 23 customary court hearing to allow the marriage to be formally dissolved.
Peggy Ovire and Frederick Leonard made their relationship public in 2022 and got married later that year. The confirmation of their divorce officially brings their marriage to an end after months of public speculation and legal proceedings.
