Anambra VIS Trains Officers on Vehicle Inspection, Road Safety
The Anambra State Vehicle Inspection Service, VIS, has conducted a mass transit training programme in Awka to strengthen officers’ practical driving skills, inspection competence, professionalism, and service delivery across the state.
The training, held at the Computerised Test Centre, Awka, equipped participants with practical knowledge and skills in vehicle inspection, roadworthiness assessment, traffic management, and safe road transportation.
Resource person, Engr. Daniel Eze, led participants through practical driving exercises, vehicle inspection procedures, defensive driving techniques, traffic law enforcement practices, and interactive sessions aimed at improving operational efficiency.
According to him, the training was designed to enhance officers’ driving competence and strengthen their technical capacity to carry out accurate vehicle inspections and enforce roadworthiness standards professionally across Anambra State.
He also emphasised the importance of traffic regulations, road safety principles, discipline, ethical conduct, and professionalism in effective public service and transportation administration.
Participants took part in practical demonstrations and interactive sessions that improved their operational skills, confidence, teamwork, and commitment to promoting safer roads and quality service delivery.
At the end of the programme, officers demonstrated improved competence in practical driving, vehicle inspection, and roadworthiness assessment, as well as a better understanding of transportation safety standards.
The Vehicle Inspection Service said the successful training reflected its commitment to continuous capacity building to ensure officers remain professionally equipped to deliver efficient services and enhance public confidence in road transportation.
The agency also recommended regular training programmes to sustain professional competence, improve operational efficiency, and support the Anambra State Government’s drive for safer transportation and improved public service delivery.
