Political leaders and stakeholders from APGA, APC, PDP and the Accord Party in Anambra State have agreed to work together in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

The political alignment was announced at a stakeholders’ meeting held at the International Convention Centre, Awka, where Governor Chukwuma Soludo urged political mobilisers to move beyond opposition politics and strengthen the South East’s participation in the Federal Government.

Soludo said the region needed a strategic shift towards greater political integration at the centre, arguing that stronger electoral support for the President could improve Anambra’s access to federal projects and development opportunities.

He recalled that the relatively low number of votes recorded for Tinubu in Anambra during the 2023 presidential election had not prevented the state from attracting significant projects, adding that broader support could produce further benefits.

The Governor acknowledged that changing public perception of the Federal Government would require sustained grassroots engagement. He therefore urged campaign mobilisers to adopt door-to-door strategies and engage voters directly.

He also disclosed plans to streamline existing campaign and mobilisation structures before the end of the following week, while encouraging supporters to remain focused despite criticism and opposition attacks.

Speaking at the meeting, APGA National Chairman, Sly Ezeokenwa, described the gathering as a significant political development and pledged the party’s support for the coalition and the direction provided by Governor Soludo.

Similarly, APC Anambra State Chairman, Senator Emma Anosike, said the meeting had given him a better appreciation of developments in the state. He called for cooperation across political divides to strengthen Anambra’s relationship with the Federal Government.

Soludo also spoke on the Federal Government’s economic reforms, particularly efforts to improve foreign exchange availability and address fiscal challenges, noting that more work was still required.

The meeting brought together political stakeholders and grassroots mobilisers from the participating parties as preparations for the 2027 general election gather momentum.
