Soludo summons Amaeze Aguleri, Umuoba Anam stakeholders over communal clash

Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has convened an emergency peace and security meeting with stakeholders from Amaeze Aguleri and Umuoba Anam following a communal clash that reportedly claimed a life and left others injured.

The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at the Light House, Awka, as part of efforts to address the dispute and secure a lasting resolution.

The Governor expressed sadness over the casualties and injuries, stressing that violence, loss of lives and destruction of property have no place in a peaceful Anambra State.

Pending the meeting, Soludo has directed both communities to immediately cease hostilities, maintain peace and exercise restraint.

He further instructed that all grievances, claims and presentations should be channelled exclusively through the designated representatives of the communities at the meeting.

The Governor also ordered the deployment of security agencies, including the Police, to the affected area to maintain law and order, protect lives and prevent further violence.

Soludo reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property and resolving communal disputes through peaceful engagement.
