2027 General Election: APGA Senatorial Candidate, Nwankwo Appoints Former ASATU President, Akpudo As Campaign DG

As the campaigns for the 2027 general election gathers momentum, the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, for Anambra Central Senatorial District, Hon. Dozie Nwankwo, has appointed Hon. Barr. Titus N Akpudo popularly known as “Ichaka – Egbe Eji Gbu Agu” as the Director General of his campaign organisation.

The appointment is aimed at strengthening the campaign’s strategies, expanding its grassroots mobilisation and coordinating activities ahead of the January 16, 2027 election, with the objective of securing a decisive victory for the APGA candidate.

Barr. Akpudo is a dedicated and seasoned leader who previously piloted the affairs of the Anambra State Association of Town Unions, ASATU, now Anambra State Town Unions Council, ASTUC, which is the umbrella body for community governments covering 179 communities of the state.

He also played a significant role in the re-election campaign of Governor Chukwuma Soludo through the Anambra State Solution Marshal (ASSMAL ) Movement, a very powerful auxiliary grassroots rapid response platform.

As the State Marshal General, ASSMAL was conspicuously deployed across communities in the state to showcase the landmark achievements of the Soludo administration in its first tenure, deepen citizen engagement, and promote orderliness and good governance at the grassroots.

Speaking shortly after his appointment, Barr. Akpudo described the choice of Hon. Dozie Nwankwo as the candidate for Anambra Central as similar to that of Governor Soludo, noting that the former lawmaker has remained an all-round performer and a household name across Anambra Central Senatorial District.

He said Hon. Nwankwo’s record and acceptance among the people have positioned him as a strong contender and a preferred choice ahead of the 2027 election.

According to the Marshal General of Solution Marshall, members of the campaign team would be announced shortly and would comprise men and women of high repute who understand the yearnings and aspirations of the people across communities in Anambra State.

Barr. Akpudo appreciated Hon. Nwankwo for the confidence reposed in him and assured that he would hit the ground running towards achieving the objectives and mission of the campaign organisation.

With the appointment, the Hon. Dozie Nwankwo Campaign Organisation is expected to leverage Barr. Akpudo’s extensive grassroots network and relationships with Presidents General, traditional and other prominently recognised institution and community stakeholders across the Senatorial District as the campaign gathers momentum ahead of the 2027 general election.
