Encomiums Rain As ASTUC Youth Wing Honours Chief Agagbo, Others As Anambra Community Role Models

An illustrious son of Abba community, Chief Cosmas Ogugua Agagbo, alongside five other people from different communities in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State, has been honored by the Youth Wing of the Anambra State Town Unions Council, ASTUC, as ‘Anambra community role model’.

Others honored at the event held on Friday, 10th July 2026 at the Njikoka Local Government Headquarters, Abagana were Chief Humphrey Iloh (Abagana), Chief Christopher Agbim (Nimo), Chief Ferdinand Dozie Nwankwo (Enugwu-Ukwu), Chief Innocent Obelle (Nawfia), and Comrade John-Bosco Ementa (Enugwu-Agidi).

The President General of ASTUC Youth Wing, Comrade Ken Okoli, had explained that various communities freely chose people of great impact as their role models, and urged honorees to remain positive influence to the younger generation.

Congratulating Chief Agagbo on behalf of the entire community, the President General of Abba Town Union, Dr. Roy Chinweuba, who described the recognition as well-deserved, remarked that if the entire society emulates the honoree and replicates his lifestyle, the society and the world would be at peace.

“The Anambra State project shared values anchored on 12 principles: (1) Fear of God, (2) Patriotism, (3) Self-reliance, (4) Discipline, (5) Life, (6) Truth, (7) Liberty, (8) Justice, (9) Community, (10) Dignity of Labour, (11) Religious and Ethnic Tolerance, and (12) Love. These are what you are truly made up of, which means you are truly ‘Onye’ Anambra and indeed ‘Onye’ Abba. The entire community is proud of you. Keep on representing us, Address Abba.”

Also congratulating Chief Agagbo, an Anambra State House of Assembly aspirant for Njikoka 2 Constituency under APGA, Comrade Malachy Ezedinachi Okafor, who noted that Chief Agagbo’s exemplary leadership, dedication, and ‘role model qualities’ continue to inspire many, also described the honour as well-deserved, and prayed that the recognition (a milestone) would usher in a new era of unity, cultural pride, and lasting development for Abba, and spur the honorees to bring greater unity, peace, and progress to the community.

“This is a moment to recognize and celebrate our rich heritage. The people of Abba should embrace, preserve, and promote what rightfully belongs to them. Our culture, traditions, and identity are priceless treasures that deserve to be protected and passed on to future generations.”

For the Chairman of APGA, Abba Ward 2, Nze Ikechukwu Egbe, Chief Agagbo is “a man of unquestionable integrity, whose excellence is evident in every aspect of life”, and who has proven himself worthy to be called a mentor, an emperor, a leader, a saviour, and a beacon of hope to the hopeless.

“Deep within their hearts, you are their role model. Who in Abba does not aspire to be like you—both in wealth, influence, and meaningful connections? You are truly worthy to be called a ROLE MODEL for always standing for truth, irrespective of who is involved.”

Describing Chief Agagbo as an ambassador of peace who always stands for the truth no matter who is involved, the Chairman of Ire Solidarity Union, Mr. Ugochukwu Atusiuba, said the honoree is an inspiration to him and to so many people.

Wishing the honoree many more honours in the years ahead, the Abba Town Union Youth Wing, through their leader, Comrade Pascal Iloabuchi Uchelue, noted that the recognition reflects Chief Agagbo’s “outstanding leadership, integrity, dedication, and selfless service to the community”, adding that his positive impact continues to inspire many people, especially the younger generation, and prayed that the award would encourage him to achieve even greater success and continue his remarkable contributions to society.
