Obodogha Bids Farewell to Environment Ministry, Seeks Support for Successor

The outgoing Permanent Secretary of the Anambra State Ministry of Environment, Mr. Tochukwu Obodogha, has expressed gratitude to God, the ministry’s leadership and members of staff as he concludes his tenure and takes up a new assignment in the state civil service.

In his farewell message, Mr. Obodogha described his service as Permanent Secretary since March 20, 2024, as rewarding and impactful, thanking God for the opportunity to contribute to the development of the ministry.

He also commended the Commissioner for Environment, Dr. Clem Aguiyi, for his leadership and unwavering support, noting that the cordial relationship among the ministry’s leadership and staff contributed significantly to the successful implementation of government policies and environmental programmes.

Mr. Obodogha expressed appreciation to members of staff for their professionalism, dedication and teamwork, saying their collective efforts advanced the ministry’s vision of promoting a cleaner, healthier and more sustainable environment across Anambra State.

He disclosed that he has been redeployed to the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources, where he will also serve as the Supervising Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Housing.

The outgoing Permanent Secretary expressed confidence that the Ministry of Environment would continue to achieve greater success under the leadership of the incoming Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Chinyere Nwabachili.

He urged members of staff to give his successor the same cooperation and support they accorded him, while encouraging them to remain disciplined, proactive and committed to excellence in the discharge of their responsibilities to sustain the ministry’s progress.
