INEC Extends Continuous Voter Registration by Two Weeks
The Independent National Electoral Commission has approved a two week extension of the Continuous Voter Registration exercise, giving more eligible Nigerians additional time to register and update their voter information.
The exercise, which commenced on August 18, 2025, was originally scheduled to end on July 10, 2026. It will now continue until July 24, 2026, following requests from eligible voters for more time to participate in the registration process.
The extension is expected to enable more eligible citizens to register as voters, thereby expanding participation in future elections and ensuring that qualified Nigerians are not excluded from the electoral process.
The Commission said the decision reflects its commitment to providing every eligible Nigerian with a fair and reasonable opportunity to be included in the National Register of Voters ahead of upcoming electoral activities.
